Travel with peace of mind
UPMC Health Plan members can access medical services wherever they go

TravelThis summer, your vacation plans may include a cruise on a ship, a visit to the beach, a stay at a mountain lake, or even an international trip. Regardless of your destination or travel plans, a program offered through UPMC Health Plan ensures that you will always have immediate access to physicians, hospitals, and other services if you or members of your family experience a medical emergency while away from home.

Travel assistance and peace of mind at no additional cost is available to Health Plan members and their covered dependents through Assist America. You can use the services of Assist America any time you or an eligible family member travels more than 100 miles away from home.

Some of the many services Assist America provides to Health Plan members are medical referrals, prescription assistance, foreign hospital admission guarantee, emergency trauma counseling, medical evacuation, and medical escort, if needed, to return to the United States.

A single call to Assist America connects you or eligible family members with experienced medical professionals and crisis response personnel who will get you appropriate medical care anywhere in the United States or around the globe. Assist America services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

To request an Assist America brochure with a tear-out wallet card, call UPMC Health Plan Member Services toll-free at 1-888-876-2756. Copies of the brochure also are available at the UPMC Employee Service Center, Suite 8033, Forbes Tower, Oakland. To reach the Employee Service Center, call DirectLink at 1-800-994-2752, option 3, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
