EAP adds new referrral service
Anne, a full-time
nurse at UPMC Presbyterian with two small children, depended on her mother
for child care while she was at work. Unexpectedly, her parents decided
to take a two-week vacation and were planning to leave in a week. With
her mother out of town, Anne didn’t know where to find someone to
watch her children while she worked. Her supervisor suggested she contact
the employee assistance program for help. With one phone call to an EAP
representative, Anne obtained help finding child care for her children
while her parents were on vacation.
Helping
UPMC employees and their families balance home and work is a focus of
EAP Solutions, UPMC’s employee assistance program. With that goal
in mind, EAP has greatly expanded the information and resources it can
offer UPMC staff and their dependents with a new, personalized Work/Life
referral service.
Now all those life concerns that might cross your mind during the day
can be helped along with one call to EAP Solutions.
Whether it’s arranging for child care or elder care, consulting
on adoption, offering advice on legal or financial matters, directing
you to college and academic resources, or even helping to arrange for
pet care, you can get a broader range of personalized referrals by calling
toll-free 1-800-647-3327.
An EAP Work/Life specialist will talk with you by telephone to understand
what you need. Referrals and information, tailored to your needs, will
be provided by phone and mail. The Work/Life service is available between
8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (except holidays). There is no
cost to you, as a UPMC employee, and all calls are completely private
and confidential.
