Join UPMC at the March of Dimes WalkAmerica
Every year, half a million babies in the United States are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many lifelong disabilities. You can help the March of Dimes prevent premature births by joining Team UPMC on Sunday, April 30, at 9 a.m. in Point State Park for the March of Dimes WalkAmerica.
UPMC Health Plan is a major sponsor of WalkAmerica. Diane Holder, president, UPMC Health Plan, is co-chair of the event. Registration fees for this walk help fund the mission of the March of Dimes to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and premature birth.
The 3.1-mile course winds along the North Shore and takes walkers through Pittsburgh’s cultural district. After finishing the walk, walkers will be treated to lunch, courtesy of the March of Dimes.
