UPMC celebrates Bring Your Culture to Work Week

Sunday, Oct. 8, through Saturday, Oct. 14, UPMC celebrates the diversity of its employees during Bring Your Culture to Work Week.

Looking for an activity for your department or business unit? Why not try one of these options:

• Hold a recipe contest for staff to bring in family recipes.
• Attend a foreign film.
• Attend a cultural performance, event, or exhibit with a group. Check out the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust at www.pgharts.org for upcoming events.
• Tour the University of Pittsburgh Nationality Rooms.
• Wear cultural attire representing your ethnicity.
• Create a display of flags from around the world.
• Play music from different cultures throughout the day.
• Decorate a bulletin board with items that represent your culture.
• Try a new place for lunch – visit an ethnic restaurant as a group.

Check with your supervisor or department director if you are interested in planning a cultural event in your department. Activities will be taking place in hospitals and business units across the health system. Watch your campus issue of Inside Extra! for information.
