Heart Walk makes strides on Oct. 7

Put on your walking shoes and join UPMC families and friends to support the work of the American Heart Association (AHA) at the 13th annual Heart Walk scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon at PNC Park. This fun, noncompetitive walk event raises money to help fight heart disease and stroke and for local cardiovascular research. Step up your fun, and join one of the more than 13 UPMC Heart Walk teams already formed. Check your campus issue of Inside Extra! for more information.

In addition to participating in the three-mile walk, which will take place outside PNC Park along the Allegheny River, walkers may gather heart-healthy information at vendor booths set up near the walking route. UPMC walkers who register with a team will receive a Team UPMC T-shirt and may attend a post-walk celebration. If you don’t preregister, you may still register at the walk between 8 and 10 a.m. The walk begins at 10 a.m.
