Don’t be left in the darkUPMC contest offers chance to win tools to keep you and your family safeIn an emergency, a reliable light source, access to news updates, and some way to summon help are essential. That’s why UPMC is offering staff the opportunity to win self-powered combination flashlight, AM/FM radio, emergency alarm units. Entering the contest, part of UPMC’s observance of National Preparedness Month, is easy. Simply complete the short quiz attached to your issue of Inside Extra! and return it as directed. The quiz deals with an important emergency preparedness topic, avian flu, and UPMC’s efforts to be prepared for a potential pandemic caused by the virus. If you need help with the answers, refer to the UPMC Avian Flu and Pandemic Preparedness Guide for Staff, which was mailed to your home address this summer. The booklet also is available on Infonet (http://avianflu.infonet.upmc.com). The contest entry deadline is Saturday, Sept. 30.
