UPMC welcomes new chief nursing officer

Pamela Triolo, new chief nursing officer

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pamela Triolo, RN, PhD, FAAN, has joined UPMC as the health system’s new chief nursing officer. Dr. Triolo holds a dual appointment as clinical professor and associate dean for Academic-Service Partnerships at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.

Dr. Triolo comes to UPMC from the School of Nursing of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she served as director of the graduate program in Leadership and Administration in Health Systems. Her position included a dual role as the director of nursing strategy and innovation and executive coach at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. During her career, Dr. Triolo has served as the chief nursing executive at the Methodist Hospital, Houston, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, and has held several leadership roles at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Dr. Triolo officially began her tenure as chief nursing officer on Sept. 1.
