Chief communications officer named for UPMC

Janilee Johnson Chief Communications Officer

Janilee Johnson has been named UPMC’s chief communications officer. She joined the health system on Oct. 30. Previously, she was chief communications officer and corporate vice president, Corporate Communication and Public Affairs, with Motorola in Schaumburg, Ill. Ms. Johnson has extensive leadership experience in all aspects of strategic communication, including: employee communication, media relations, shareholder communication, crisis communication, financial communication, industry analysts, global web presence, employee portal, executive communication, corporate marketing communication and advertising, trade show and event management, and sports marketing. Ms. Johnson also has held communication leadership roles with Telcordia, Nynex Corporation, and the U.S. Department of Education.
