Some FSA Cards to be reissued

ADP FlexDirect FSA cardStaff members who participate in a flexible spending account receive an ADP FlexDirect debit card. The same FlexDirect card can be used for a three-year period, provided you continue to enroll in the FSA each year. The cards were initially introduced for the 2004 calendar year, and some will expire this year. If you have enrolled in the health care FSA for 2007, review the expiration date on the front of your card. You will receive a new card if this date is Jan. 1, 2007 (01/07). If you have a later date, a new card will be sent about two weeks prior to the expiration date on the card.

The rules for using the FSA debit cards have changed for 2007 (see the Nov. 3 issue of Extra! for more details). While your card should be accepted by health care providers, such as hospitals and doctors’ offices, some other providers will no longer be able to accept your card as payment. Some retail stores and grocery stores that have been able to accept your card in the past will no longer be able to process your FlexDirect card starting in January 2007. For additional information, review the FSA Open Enrollment information on Infonet at http://benefits.infonet.upmc.com or the ADP website at www.flexdirect.adp.com.
