What can MyHealth Record do for you?
You probably spend a lot of time planning your family’s busy schedules — summer vacations, trips to the grocery store, bill payments. But have you ever taken the time to review and organize your personal health information? UPMC Health Plan has now made this important task much easier. MyHealth Record is a secure and private website to store your health care information, manage chronic illnesses, and improve overall health for staff enrolled in medical coverage through the UPMC Health Plan. When you access your MyHealth Record, you can view a summary of your recent health care services, a list of medications prescribed, and additional health and wellness tools. Staff who choose to use MyHealth Record will see their UPMC Health Plan-related medical histories automatically uploaded to the site through claims data and can then add information, such as immunization schedules or drug allergies. You can also supplement your MyHealth Record with personal information, such as family health histories. By including this information on your MyHealth Record, you may help eliminate repeat medical tests and guard against adverse drug interactions. You can print your entire record or portions of it to share with your physician, family members, or caregivers. This may improve the doctor-patient relationship and, when you are ill, help your physician to reach an accurate diagnosis more quickly. The MyHealth Record also enables UPMC Health Plan members to view past claims data and review lab screening results or diagnostic tests. Progress toward health-related goals can be tracked by reviewing the results of a health screening (body mass index, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels) or an online health risk assessment. Staff members also should remember that accessing your MyHealth Record is one of the requirements you must satisfy to receive your 2008 MyHealth deductible credit. Together, UPMC and UPMC Health Plan are making it easier for you to achieve good health.
