February 20, 2009 Tour the new Children’s
Every aspect of Children’s bright, spacious new campus in Lawrenceville reflects our value of patients and families first. UPMC staff can tour select areas of the hospital, including the atrium, terrace garden, and Family Resource Center at the heart of the inpatient floors. Self-guided walking tours are planned to take about an hour and include a look at patient rooms that have been built with an unprecedented level of attention to privacy, patient safety, and family needs — from sleeping surfaces and natural light to WiFi. Also on the tour will be the new hospital’s outpatient waiting room — as long as a city block, with room for families to stretch out and relax, and for kids to play. The waiting area is one more example of the hospital’s child- and family-friendly environment. Watch your e-mail for an invitation to the “insiders’ sneak peek” with more information. To help manage traffic flow, and in consideration of our Lawrenceville neighbors, advance, online registration* is necessary at www.chp.edu/insiders. If you can’t make it on Saturday, you may attend the special community preview being held Sunday, April 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. *Online registration will begin Thursday, March 5th.
