Win passes to Steelers training camp

Wednesday, July 1, is the first day of UPMC’s 2010 fiscal year, and also marks the start of Central Blood Bank’s UPMC blood donation program that enables staff who donate three times or more times between July 1, 2009, and June 30, 2010, to earn PTO days. Staff who donate three times will receive one PTO day; six donations earn two PTO days.

As an incentive to boost donations, UPMC staff who give blood in July, will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win passes to UPMC VIP Day at Steelers training camp in Latrobe, Pa., on Sunday, Aug. 9.* (Already donated? Staff who gave blood since June 1 are automatically entered into the drawing.)

Check your campus edition of Inside Extra or Extra Express for information about blood drives being held at a UPMC location near you. You also can donate at any Central Blood Bank drive or donation center.

Eligibility requirements for donating

You may not be eligible to donate blood if you received a tattoo, experienced an accidental needlestick injury, or traveled outside of the United States or Canada in the past 12 months. If the Central Blood Bank determines that you are ineligible to donate, you will not be eligible for the PTO program until your deferral has expired.

*One entry per person. Winners will be notified by mail and may bring one guest. Winners are responsible for their own transportation and for securing their own time off.
