Times like these can be difficult for military families. Although miles may be between you and your loved ones, hearts cannot be divided by distance. At UPMC, we also miss our co-workers who are away serving their country. Currently, 32 UPMC employees are serving in the military overseas and countless more have family members who are deployed.

To show our support, UPMC is holding a systemwide “UPMC Supports Our Troops Campaign” from Monday, Nov. 3, through Friday, Nov. 14, in conjunction with Veterans Day. During this campaign, we are asking staff to donate much needed and requested items. With the assistance of MedSpeed and the U.S. Postal Service, we will ship those items directly to our troops.

If you have loved ones serving overseas in a combat zone and would like them to receive care packages from the UPMC family, submit their mailing information online at infonet.upmc.com/troopsupport, or e-mail infonet@upmc.edu.

If you would like to contribute items to this campaign, a list of frequently requested items is available on Infonet. Staff at business units across the system have volunteered to act as site coordinators. For more information, see the Oct. 31 issue of your campus edition of Inside Extra! or visit Infonet.

Thank you for supporting our troops.
