CarePages connect friends and family

It’s nice to hear from concerned friends and family when a loved one is in the hospital. And while it’s comforting to receive supportive phone calls and e-mails, finding time to get in touch with those who care can be challenging. CarePages can help.

CarePages is a Web service that helps loved ones stay connected before, during, and after hospitalization. Patients and families can create a free, private webpage where they can share their latest news with friends and family.

CarePages helps patients and loved ones:

• track progress toward recovery
• update everyone at the same time without repeated phone calls or e-mails
• connect with others on a message board
• share photos with family and friends

It takes just a few minutes to create a CarePages website and it’s so easy that even the most inexperienced computer user can follow along. If you can type and follow instructions, you can create a CarePages website. To get started, patients and loved ones should visit www.carepages.com/upmc, click “Create,” and begin making a personalized page. Questions should be directed to: support@carepages.com. You also may call the CarePages toll-free line at 1-888-852-5521.

A card describing CarePages is available from UPMC’s Print Shop. To order, complete a Printing and Duplicating Service Request Form (available among the Forms on Infonet). Print out that form, fill it out, and in the space for “Form Number,” specify 10617-82179-1008.
