UPMC and Verizon Wireless: Working together

Did you know you can receive 20 percent off your cell phone bill by using Verizon Wireless? UPMC has signed a five-year agreement with Verizon Wireless to make Verizon the preferred wireless vendor for the organization. Discounts are available for plans starting at $34.99. You also can get reduced prices on handsets and phone accessories.

Now it will be easier for UPMC employees and corporate units to get more information about equipment and services from Verizon Wireless. Through a joint marketing agreement, Verizon Wireless representatives will come to UPMC facilities periodically to answer questions about services and discounts available to UPMC employees.

The agreement also will yield improved cell phone coverage at UPMC. To help improve coverage, Verizon plans to install radio transmitters at UPMC hospitals. The ISD Telecom Team is working with the hospitals and Verizon to start this project.

Corporate accounts are eligible for the same discounts as personal users. Just as with individual and family plans, people with questions about corporate discounts can meet with a Verizon Wireless representative when the representative comes to the nearest facility. Remember that all corporate accounts (full and limited liability) must go through the ISD Telecom Team to ensure that the correct credits and discounts are applied.
