UPMC Launches New Physician-Directed Website

As a leading academic medical center, UPMC helps inform, educate, and train practicing doctors across the country. A new UPMC website, directed specifically at physicians, will enable UPMC to share our expertise more broadly while continuing to build our referral base and national reputation for excellence.

The new website, www.UPMCPhysicianResources.com, offers physicians accredited continuing medical education (CME) courses and specialty-specific resources from UPMC. The site initially covers 16 major clinical specialties, ranging from cancer care to urology, and later will expand to cover additional specialties. At the heart of the site are CME programs presented by UPMC experts. Doctors who view instructional videos will be able to take an online quiz and receive CME credit — an extension of UPMC’s CME efforts that should engage many new colleagues.

The website also includes links to:

•  newsletters, case studies, press releases, research abstracts, and other educational and informative content from UPMC
•  newly developed physician podcasts created in partnership with the Discovery Channel
•  the main UPMC.com website

UPMCPhysicianResources.com will continue to be expanded with new CME programs and other new content. Ads in print and online clinical journals will promote key services and direct physicians to this website. The goal is for physicians across the country in all specialties to become frequent visitors to the site — and to UPMC.com as well.
