Please print and post for staff who do not have access Taking steps to improve or maintain your health has always been rewarding. But with this year’s MyHealth Rewards Drawings, it can be more rewarding than ever. These UPMC employees would agree. Each became eligible for the second of four drawings by completing the three required steps to obtain the 2010 MyHealth deductible credit. Don’t miss out on the next reward drawing. Complete the following by Sept. 1 and you will be entered in the drawing for a chance to add $500 to your wallet:
For more information on Take a Healthy Step 2010 and the MyHealth Rewards Drawings, go to My HUB, click on the Human Resources tab, and select the MyHealth/MyFlex Advantage link. Remember to update My HUB with any special skills, experiences, and licensures not related to your employment at UPMC. To complete your profile, click on the Human Resources tab in My HUB. Click on the Disaster Preparedness Profile link in the My Profile section. This information will allow UPMC to quickly tap any resources necessary to provide needed care and services in the event of an emergency or disaster. It is also important to make sure your directory listings on Infonet and Outlook are current. You can update your directory listing on Infonet in the online Employee Directory. To keep your information in Outlook current, visit the ISD Help Desk and select Update Your Exchange Address Book Information. As the region gears up to host world leaders at the Pittsburgh Summit (G-20) on Sept. 24 and 25, UPMC is making plans to remain open for business and to minimize the impact of disruptions on our operations. Traffic and security restrictions downtown are still in development and information about them probably will not be available until closer to the event. You can find information about UPMC’s evolving G-20 plans on Infonet and sign up for e-mail alerts. Stroke Education for Patients and Families is now available through the UPMC Print Shop for $1.05 apiece. This 60-page booklet, compiled by a group of stroke nurses representing several UPMC hospitals, contains materials previously approved through the systemwide Patient Education Committee. Chapters include stroke risk factors, causes, warning signs, medical
treatment, surgical treatment, emergency treatment, and TIA facts; some
tests that stroke patients may undergo, including CT, MRI, echocardiogram,
TEE, and Holter monitor; and information about blood pressure, cholesterol,
stroke, smoking, and diabetes. Tips for caregivers and a list of resources
for stroke patients and families are also included. August is Generations in the Workplace Month. To learn more about the characteristics often represented in a multigenerational workforce, visit the Center for Inclusion in Health Care Infonet site. Did you know?
