Some new and exciting changes to the dental benefits, designed to lower your out-of-pocket costs, are coming your way in 2010.

• A “Preventive Incentive” program will be introduced. Preventive and diagnostic services, such as annual routine cleanings and x-rays will not count toward the annual calendar year maximum of $1,000 for the Standard option and $1,500 for the Premium option. This leaves more coverage available to you for when you need additional dental services.

• White composite fillings have been limited in the past to the highest level of coverage, and for the front teeth only. These fillings will now be covered for all teeth. You will be responsible for any coinsurance amount up to the UCCI maximum-allowed charge if you use in-network providers.
