Qatar — Nursing Leadership Course

The trauma service in Doha, Qatar, a partnership of UPMC and Hamad Medical Corp., presented its first leadership workshop for emergency department nurses and team leaders March 24. Nine staff members from Hamad General Hospital and trauma centers attended this day-long course. The topics presented included leadership, decision making, communication, crisis intervention, and critical thinking skills. Class attendees participated in role playing, group discussions, and learning activities. To date, a second group has attended the workshop to learn how to become better and stronger leaders.
